How does it work?

IdeaApe new search bar enable precise searches by allowing you to specify additional criteria.

Let's say I've built a skincare eCommerce business, and I want to know what people dislike the most about skincare prices.

1. The first step is to figure out what people who are complaining about the prices would write in the title or in the descriptions.

2. I think they would mention "pay" or "cost," and they will also mention "skincare" or "skin care."

3. Next is inputting this into the new IdeaApe search bar.

4. We will first choose "IN TITLE" from the dropdown menu and enter "Pay."

5. Then we will click on "ADD" and choose "OR."

6. Next, we will choose "IN TITLE" from the dropdown menu and enter "cost."

7. Then we will click "ADD" and choose "AND."

8. Then we will choose "IN TITLE" from the dropdown menu and enter "skincare."

9. Then we will click "ADD" and choose "OR."

10. We will choose "IN TITLE" from the dropdown menu and enter "skin care."

11. So we just searched for Reddit posts that has pay or cost in their title and also has skincare or skin care in their title, this is the result: Skincare pricing analysis

Title Operator

The "title" operator limits search results to pages with the specified term in the title tag. For example, selecting "title" from the dropdown and entering "recipe" will only return reddit posts with "recipe" in the title. The "title" operator is highly effective, as a page's title tag is a strong relevance signal.

Title Operator Examples

• Selecting "title" and searching for "jaguar" will return reddit posts about the Jaguar animal or car with "jaguar" in the title
• Selecting "title" and searching for "apple" will return reddit posts about Apple Inc. or the fruit with "apple" in the title
• Selecting "title" and searching for "review" will limit results to review reddit posts with "review" in the title

Exact Match Operator

Selecting "exact" from the dropdown will return only reddit posts containing those exact terms in that exact order in the content of the reddit post. The exact match operator is useful for finding specific information.

Exact Match Operator Examples

• Selecting "exact" and searching for "Abraham Lincoln" will only return reddit posts mentioning Abraham Lincoln by his full name
• Selecting "exact" and searching for "best smartphones 2024" will return reddit posts with that exact phrase
• Selecting "exact" and searching for "to be or not to be" will surface reddit posts containing that precise Shakespearean quote

AND/OR Operators

Adding a new keyword and selecting "AND" from the dropdown mandates that search results contain all the specified terms. reddit posts missing any of the terms are excluded.

Conversely, adding a new keyword and selecting "OR" from the dropdown returns reddit posts containing either term or phrase. OR expands the search by including more possible results.

AND/OR Operator Examples

• Entering "recipes" and "vegan" with AND selected will return only reddit posts containing both terms
• Entering "Abraham Lincoln" and "Gettysburg" with AND selected will return only reddit posts mentioning both
• Entering "Tesla" and "electric cars" with OR selected will return results about either Tesla specifically or electric cars in general
• Entering "best smartphones 2023", selecting AND, and entering "Samsung" and "Apple" with OR selected between them will return reddit posts declaring the best 2023 smartphones from either Samsung or Apple

Combining Operators

IdeaApe allows easily combining operators via the dropdowns to enable even more targeted searches. For example:

• Selecting "title", entering "recipe", selecting AND, and entering "vegan" will return only reddit posts with "recipe" in the title that also mention "vegan"
• Selecting "title", entering "review", selecting AND, selecting "exact" and entering "best smartphones 2023" limits results to review reddit posts with "review" in the title that contain the exact phrase "best smartphones 2023"

Conclusion
